Description

Most divers flutter kick on the reef and then need a frog kick in a silty swim-through, and a fin that only does one of those well forces a compromise. The Avanti Quattro 4X is the Mares update of the Quattro+, with a four-channel blade built from three materials so it drives a strong flutter kick yet stays controllable in frog kicks and back kicks. On a drift dive the channels and overmoulded side ribs stop the blade twisting as the kick works harder against the current. On a wreck the reinforced lower foot pocket carries leg power into the blade for small, precise movements. Walking across a wet boat deck or a rocky shore, the anti-slip sole under the foot pocket gives grip, and the large heel loop and covered bungee strap go on and off easily with gloves. It suits a diver who wants one open heel fin for reef, drift and wreck diving and is ready to step up from an entry-level blade.
