Mares Avanti Quattro+ Fins

Description

The Avanti Quattro+ is the fin the newer Quattro 4X was developed from, and Mares describe it as an ultra-high performance fin designed for demanding divers. Its four-channel Tecralene blade, 38 cm long in size R, flexes into channels that move more water per kick, while large perforations in the thermoplastic rubber foot pocket stop water collecting there and dragging like a parachute. On a drift dive that means strong, steady thrust to hold a line along a wall. On a relaxed reef dive a slow flutter kick is enough to cover ground. For an underwater photographer, an efficient blade means fewer kicks to hold position while framing a shot. The foot pocket joints at the blade absorb kinetic energy, and stabilising side ribs keep the blade on track. It suits a diver who wants a high-performance open heel fin to wear with boots.
