Mares Dual 15X + XR Rec Trim Set

Description

A first regulator should be light to carry and easy to breathe, and this set puts the Mares Dual 15X on the Mares XR-Rec Trim single backmount set. The whole regulator weighs 919 g in DIN, and its ultralight technopolymer Dual second stage uses Vortex Assisted Design and a curved bypass for natural breathing at any depth. The 15X balanced diaphragm first stage has a sandblasted finish, pre-oriented ports and a DFC port, and the large purge button works in thick gloves. The XR-Rec Trim brings a 17 litre, 160 N bladder that runs longer at the lower back, independent shoulder and waist straps and a skeleton aluminium backplate, all at 2.8 kg. No octopus is included, so an alternate air source has to be added before the rig is dived. That covers a diver moving into backmount on a budget, a travel rig kept light, and a first step towards extended range. It suits a diver who puts the budget into the backplate rig first.
