Mares Magnetic Connector

Description

Carabiners need two hands and a look, which is hard with thick gloves or a camera in one hand. The Mares magnetic connector joins an accessory to the rig with a magnetic click that works one-handed, and it releases safely even under full load. Unscrewing the head exposes a threaded pin that fits any BCD D-ring, and the connector rotates a full 360 degrees while the ball head tilts in any direction, so the item hangs at a comfortable angle. Mares rates it for equipment of up to 60 kg, and it is shorter than a carabiner, keeping kit closer to the body. That covers an octopus or console on the chest, a torch that needs to come free quickly, and a camera parked between shots. It suits a diver who wants fast, one-handed attachment.
