Description

Solid lead blocks on bare webbing dig into the hips and slide on a wetsuit, and a belt that carries the lead in pockets avoids both. The Mares soft pocket weight belt has ample pockets that carry several kilograms between them, and stainless steel buckles that stand up to salt water. The pocket count and length change with size: the small belt has four pockets over 110 cm, the medium four pockets over 125 cm and the large five pockets over 140 cm. Lead can be added or taken out pocket by pocket between dives, which makes fine adjustment simple. That covers a new diver working out the right amount of lead, a shore dive with a long surface swim, and a diver whose jacket has no integrated weight. It suits a diver who prefers a belt that spreads the lead evenly.
