Description

Re-weighting a student between dives is a rethread of a belt, or it is moving a strap. These make it the second. Slug weights ride on a buoyancy compensator rather than around the waist, clipping on and off with stainless steel carabiners that survive repeated salt water, and they come in pairs because that is how they are used, one each side to keep the load balanced. The carabiner takes a D-ring on effectively any BCD, so they move between rental units and a diver's own kit with no modification, and the construction is heavy enough for daily school use rather than occasional recreational diving. A diver whose trim is half a kilogram out corrects it without taking the rig apart. Weights are bought separately. One limitation to understand: this is not a ditchable system in the sense a quick-release integrated pocket is, so anyone whose training depends on a single ditch action should stay with the belt. It suits an instructor, a school or a diver who prefers weight on the harness.
