Bright Weight Belt

Description

A conventional weight belt needs a keeper either side of every block, and each keeper is one more part that slips. This one holds 500 gram slugs through a patented locking design and does away with retainers entirely. The belt is flexible rather than stiff webbing, so it follows the waist and stays put as a suit compresses at depth, and slugs thread on, lock, and can be repositioned quickly on the surface. Lead that creeps around the waist takes trim with it, and a diver reaching back to reposition a block mid-dive has stopped doing anything else. Just as importantly, a locking belt still comes off cleanly in one movement, which is the only thing a weight belt genuinely has to do. It is 1.5 metres, supplied with a buckle and a D-ring, and ready to use once weights are added. Slugs are bought separately. It suits a diver who wants weight that stays where it was put.
