Mares XR Donut Bladder Single Tank 16 kg

Description

A single cylinder on a backplate rolls a diver when air collects on one side of the wing, and the answer is a bladder that lets the air circulate evenly. The Mares XR Donut Bladder Single Tank is a continuous loop that settles the diver in the trim technical diving asks for, and its shape lets the cylinder nest inside for an extremely streamlined profile. Tank stabiliser slide bars keep the cylinder steady, six large drain grommets empty it, and a heavy-duty plastic zipper and four heavy-duty grommets finish the shell. A K-style inflator with metal buttons sits on the left, clear of the first stage, on a stretchy low-profile oval corrugated hose, with a low-profile dump valve. Paired with an aluminium backplate, Mares notes, it is light enough for dive trips, and this version gives 16 kg (34 lb) of lift. That covers a first backplate and wing, a travel rig with an aluminium cylinder, and replacing a worn wing. It suits a diver building a single-cylinder XR rig.
