Description

Hardware takes the knocks on a harness, which is why many technical divers want every D-ring and slider in stainless steel. The Mares XR Heavy Duty harness is the complete Hogarthian harness with every metal part in stainless steel, ready to fit to a steel backplate. It includes 3.5 m of webbing with a central hole, three 40 mm elastic keepers and a 1.5 m crotch strap. The hardware is 50 mm curved D-rings at the chest, straight D-rings at the waist and on the crotch strap, sliders, a toothed pair and a stainless waist buckle. The backplate is not included, and the photograph shows the harness mounted for reference. That covers re-rigging an older plate, a diver replacing tired plastic hardware, and an instructor setting up a standard teaching rig. It suits a diver who already has a backplate.
