Mares XR Rec Trim Single Backmount Set

Description

Getting trim right on a backplate usually means moving the plate, the lead and the straps by trial and error, and the XR-Rec Trim is designed to cut that down to minutes. Its 17 litre, 1000 denier Cordura bladder runs longer at the lower back, adding lift where most divers sink feet first, and the waist strap adjusts on its own because the shoulder straps are independent of it. The skeleton 3 mm aluminium backplate has 40 percent less volume than the previous version, and the complete set weighs 2.8 kg. Two aluminium D-rings on the waist strap take a stage cylinder, and the overpressure valve is placed to vent in any position. That covers a recreational diver starting extended range training, a flight where every kilogram counts, and a cold dive with a stage clipped on. It suits a diver who wants a light single backmount set that trims flat.
