Mares XR Sidemount Pure Light Bladder

Description

Sidemount divers ask two things of a bladder: that it does not squeeze the body as it inflates, and that it lets them lie flat rather than folding into a hump. The Mares XR Pure Light is shaped for side mounting and stays flat when inflated, with a pre-shaped inner bag that avoids any camel or twisted effect and no elastic compressing the body. Mares builds it from 1200 denier ballistic nylon with a 600 denier polyester exterior over a black polyurethane inner bladder, gives it 10 kg of buoyancy, and shapes it to wrap the rear weight pocket. A reversible low-profile dump valve, a knobless pull cord, an oval corrugated hose and a two-speed inflator with brass buttons complete it. Mares recommends this light version for aluminium plates, travel and warm water. That covers a sidemount course in a warm-water destination, a travel rig on an aluminium plate, and open water or wreck dives in the tropics. It suits a diver building a light Mares XR sidemount rig.
