Mares XR Sidemount Tail Plate

Description

Sidemount divers move attachment points around until the cylinders sit right, and a harness with fixed hardware makes that slow. The Mares XR tail plate is one of the modular plates in the XR sidemount system, laser cut and engraved from grade 316 stainless steel. It is pre-shaped so cylinders can be attached in whatever arrangement a diver settles on. Mares put it through intensive testing and designed it to work with every type of sidemount configuration, and it weighs 180 g. Because the system is modular, the tail plate can be combined with the XR top and bottom plates and hip rings to suit the harness. That covers converting an XR harness for a sidemount course, a cave diver refining cylinder position, and a cold-water diver in a drysuit carrying heavier steel cylinders. It suits a diver building or tuning a Mares XR sidemount harness.
