Description

Water temperature decides gas consumption, exposure protection and how long a dive is comfortable, and most divers only learn it afterwards from a computer log. A gauge with an integrated temperature scale shows it on the way down, while the decision to turn a dive is still being made. This is the metal-bodied Aqua Lung pressure gauge with that scale, rated to 300 bar and reading to 350 bar on the dial. At its centre is a Swiss made shock-resistant Bourdon tube, the mechanical movement that makes an analogue gauge trustworthy after being dropped on a deck. A luminescent face reads in low light without a torch, and a one-way safety valve limits the consequences of a failure. It is nitrox compatible to 50 per cent. That answers a rental fleet, a backup to an air-integrated computer, and a diver who wants a mechanical reference. It suits a diver who wants pressure and temperature without a battery.
