Description

This is the least costly route into a sealed SCUBAPRO first stage, and sealing is what a diver is actually buying. The MK17 EVO 2 closes its mechanism inside a dry ambient pressure chamber behind a dual diaphragm on a twin spring layout, with a body rib shaped to improve heat exchange, so cold or dirty water never reaches the working parts. Two high pressure ports lie at 15 degrees for hose routing and direct transmitter mounting, and four high-flow low pressure ports complete the block. It weighs 797 grams in INT 232 with intermediate pressure at 9.2 to 9.8 bar. In front of it sits the compact air-balanced C370 in fibreglass-reinforced nylon, with an adjustable inhalation knob, a coaxial dive and pre-dive lever and a purge button sized for a gloved hand, which is the part noticed on a winter dive. The nylon case scuffs where a metal one would not. It suits a diver wanting a sealed first stage that still packs small.
