Description

Green, cold and often stirred up is what Cape divers work in, and a sealed first stage is the honest answer to it. The MK17 EVO 2 is smaller and lighter than the MK17 EVO and MK19 EVO before it, a balanced diaphragm in forged chrome-plated marine-grade brass whose dry chamber shuts kelp debris, harbour silt and cold water out of the mechanism. Four high-flow low pressure ports and two high pressure ports at 15 degrees let the first stage sit inverted without a transmitter fouling a shoulder. It weighs 797 grams in INT 232 at 9.2 to 9.8 bar. The C370 primary is air balanced in fibreglass-reinforced nylon with an adjustable inhalation knob, a coaxial dive and pre-dive lever and a large purge. The R105 octopus runs on a metre of high-visibility yellow hose, and its hose attachment reverses, so it routes to either shoulder or off a pony cylinder. It suits a diver working cold, silted water.
