MK2 EVO First Stage

Description

Being unbalanced is usually listed as a limitation. On a training regulator it is arguably a feature: inhalation effort rises as the cylinder empties, which gives a student a physical cue that gas is running low, before anyone looks at a gauge. The MK2 EVO is a downstream piston first stage with its internals inside the Extended Thermal Insulating System, which SCUBAPRO rate as raising the cold water performance by 50 percent over the earlier MK2. The body is polished chrome-plated marine-grade brass, an oversized piston raises airflow, and the stainless steel orifice is removable, so a technician replaces that part rather than the body. Port layout is four low pressure and one high pressure, and it is certified to EN250:2014. Fewer moving parts means shorter downtime and a smaller parts bill across a rental fleet. It suits a dive school or a diver wanting a simple, serviceable first stage.
