R4 Tec First Stage

Description

A decompression stage hangs at the diver's side for the whole dive, so a smaller, lighter first stage makes the cylinder easier to trim and to handle on the surface. The R4 TEC is Tecline's compact diaphragm first stage, 637 g in chrome-plated marine bronze, with a dry chamber and cold kit for cold water and a 9.0 bar intermediate pressure. Tecline rate it perfect for stage cylinders, well suited to a twinset and good on a single tank, and they do not recommend it for sidemount, where the fixed port layout gets in the way. Its four LP and two HP ports are placed without a turret, which keeps the body short under a stage valve. The standard version takes a DIN 300 bar connection. The O2 version carries a DIN connection with an M26x2 thread for oxygen-valve cylinders, the usual choice for a shallow decompression stop. Both meet EN 250A. It suits a technical diver setting up stage or decompression cylinders, or a twinset diver who wants compact first stages.
