Description

A downstream valve fails open, so a fault announces itself as a free flow the diver can still breathe from rather than as a stoppage. On a school regulator that behaviour matters more than a marginal gain in breathing effort. The MK2 EVO first stage is the one downstream piston in the range worked to resist freezing in extreme cold, in polished chrome-plated marine-grade brass with an oversized piston for airflow and a removable stainless steel orifice, so a technician changes a part rather than an assembly. XTIS insulation isolates the mechanical elements from the cold. The R105 uses a classic downstream valve with a metal barrel in a compact anti-scratch casing, with a dive and pre-dive VIVA switch and a soft co-moulded purge, and its hose attachment reverses so the same second stage moves to a pony or deco cylinder. Certification is EN 250A. It suits a school, a rental fleet or a diver wanting a spare set.
