Description

Running the same second stage twice, as primary and as alternate, means one set of service parts, one purge button and one familiar feel across both regulators. In an out-of-air ascent neither diver meets an unfamiliar second stage, which counts for a great deal more on a first regulator than a marginal gain in breathing effort would. The MK2 EVO is a downstream piston first stage in polished chrome-plated marine-grade brass, with an oversized piston for airflow, a removable stainless steel orifice for servicing and internals cut to resist freezing. Both R105s use a classic downstream valve with a metal barrel in an anti-scratch casing, a dive and pre-dive VIVA switch, a soft co-moulded purge and a hi-flow mouthpiece, with a reversible hose attachment that suits sidemount, pony and deco cylinders. Certification is EN 250A for all conditions including extreme cold. It suits a diver buying a first regulator set or a school kitting out.
