Description

Divers chew through mouthpieces at very different rates, and a snorkel is where it shows first because the bite is unsupported by a regulator body. This is the replacement for the Nexus. Beyond biting, ultraviolet is what finishes them: a snorkel clipped to a mask strap on a boat deck spends its life in the sun, and the silicone hardens until the lip seal no longer seals against the gum. Water then works in at every breath and the snorkel gets blamed. Replacing the mouthpiece is the fix and it costs a fraction of a new snorkel. It pushes off and on without tools, so the job takes a minute on a bench. It suits a Nexus snorkel whose mouthpiece has split, hardened or been bitten through.
