Apeks MTX-R 1st Stage DIN

Description

Adding a cylinder to a technical rig means adding a first stage, and buying a whole regulator to get one is money spent twice. This is the MTX-R head supplied on its own. A sealed dry chamber keeps water off the spring, and the unfreezable end cap stops ice forming where it would jam the valve open. On a twinset conversion a second head turns a single cylinder set into a manifolded pair. On a stage or deco bottle it feeds a dedicated second stage. On an expedition it is the spare that saves a trip when a first stage floods on day two. The forged body carries heat exchanging fins that draw warmth from the water into the gas, and the whole design comes from the MTX built to the US Navy Experimental Diving Unit cold water test. It suits a technical diver extending an existing MTX-R setup.
