MTX-R DIN Regulator 300B

Description

Adjustment knobs are useful until a diver is wearing dry gloves at four degrees with a torch in one hand, and then they are one more thing to get wrong. The MTX-R has none. Cracking effort and venturi are pre set by an Apeks technician, which also removes the most common cause of an accidental free flow. On an ice dive the sealed first stage and unfreezable end cap keep the valve working where an unsealed regulator locks open. On a deep cold water wreck the over balanced first stage raises intermediate pressure faster than ambient so the breathe does not stiffen. On a working dive the forged body and heat exchanging fins draw warmth from the water into the gas. The design was developed to the United States Navy Experimental Diving Unit extreme cold water test. It suits a diver who wants proven cold water reliability and nothing to fiddle with, and the MTX-RC adds the controls if they are wanted.
