MTX-RC Octopus

Description

Most octopuses are a cheaper second stage in a yellow cover, which means the gas a diver donates in an emergency breathes worse than the one they kept. The MTX-RC octopus is the same second stage as the primary, with the same adjustment knob and venturi lever. On an out of gas ascent the receiving diver gets a full performance breathe at depth rather than a backup that stiffens. On a cold water dive it resists free flow the way the primary does, which matters because an octopus hangs unused and cold. On a training dive an instructor can set it for a nervous student and reset it afterwards. The metallic insert cover takes the knocks an octopus gets from being clipped and unclipped. It suits any MTX-RC or MTX-R owner who wants matched second stages, and it is the correct partner for the MTX-RC regulator.
