Nautilus Marine Rescue GPS

Description

A diver swept off a site is a head in a swell, invisible from a boat at a few hundred metres. The Marine Rescue GPS answers that by putting a marked position on the chart plotter of every AIS vessel in range instead. Each unit ships with an MMSI already programmed, so the transmitter works from first switch on with no registration, subscription or service fee attached. The fix is accurate to a metre and the 1 watt transmitter runs on 161.975 and 162.025 MHz, reaching a skiff at sea level up to 5.5 miles away and a hilltop receiver at a demonstrated maximum of 34 miles. It is rated to 130 metres with the dive cap closed, floats in salt water, and fires a strobe automatically once it senses darkness. It suits any diver working current, blue water, or a coastline where boats lose people.
