Helix Pro Octopus

Description

The point of matching an octopus to the regulator it hangs beside is that both get serviced together, with the same parts and the same technician, rather than becoming two separate maintenance jobs on one set. The Helix Pro Octopus is the alternate air source built for the Helix range for that reason. It uses a downstream valve, so its failure mode is a free flow rather than a shut valve, which is the behaviour wanted from a second stage that spends almost all its life unused. A heat exchanger resists ice forming at the valve inlet during the high flow of an air share. It is nitrox ready to 40 per cent oxygen as supplied. That answers an instructor, a club set kept to one service schedule, and a diver completing a Helix regulator. It suits a diver already running a Helix primary.
