Helix Compact Octopus Pro

Description

An octopus is the second stage most likely to be handed to a stranger, which is an argument for a smaller one. The Helix Compact Octopus Pro uses the compact second stage body, so it takes up less room clipped to a chest D-ring and fits a smaller mouth without a fight in the moment it is needed. Work of breathing is 1.25 joules per litre through a downstream valve, so a failure produces a free flow rather than a closed valve. A heat exchanger at the inlet resists ice forming during the sudden high flow of an air share in cold water. It is nitrox ready to 40 per cent oxygen as supplied. That answers a diver running a Helix Compact Pro primary, a club set used by mixed body sizes, and a streamlined recreational rig. It suits a diver wanting the alternate air source to match a compact regulator.
