OMS Smart Reel

Description

A reel that jams or will not lock at the wrong moment turns a simple SMB launch or a wreck penetration into a problem, and the OMS Smart Reel is built around a lock that stays simple in gloves. Recessed grips on the outer body lock and release the spool, and the action works in thick neoprene or dry gloves. The body is fibreglass-reinforced nylon, impact resistant enough to take knocks on a rocky entry or a crowded boat deck. The spool lifts out for cleaning after a silty dive and can be swapped for another. The 76 m version covers SMB deployment and short guideline runs, while the 122 m version reaches further along a wreck or cavern line. An adjustable soft handle holds the reel steady in the hand, and a stainless steel double ender clips it to the harness. It suits a technical or advanced diver who runs line or shoots an SMB on most dives.
