14500 Battery 700mAh

Description

The useful thing about the AA form factor is that a filling station anywhere in the world sells one. The 14500 is the rechargeable in that same size, which is what lets the D560 and D560-GL run at full output on a lithium cell and still fall back to a shop-bought alkaline when the charge is gone. Nominal voltage is 3.7 volts against 1.5 for an alkaline, and that difference is why the D560 gives 700 lumens on this cell and 180 on an AA. Capacity is 700 milliamp-hours, the cell measures 14.5 by 53 millimetres and weighs 20 grams, with triple over-heat protection built in and a rating beyond 500 charge cycles. Worth noting: OrcaTorch have since moved to a 920 milliamp-hour USB-C version, and the 700 milliamp-hour cell is the version stocked here. It suits a D560 or D560-GL owner wanting a rechargeable spare.
