Description

Green light penetrates water far better than white, which is why the D570-GL puts a laser alongside the beam rather than relying on the beam alone to communicate. Above water the laser reads as a dot; underwater the particles in the water turn it into a straight green line, so a buddy at distance sees the direction as well as the target. One switch selects the white beam, the laser, or both together. The white side is 1500 lumens through an 8 degree beam at 23750 candela, throwing 308 metres on land for 1 hour 20, while the 5 milliwatt laser runs 11 hours 36 and reaches 1000 metres. It measures 134 by 26 by 40 millimetres at 179 grams without a cell, rated to 150 metres and a 1 metre drop. It suits a diver who needs to light and to point on one torch.
