Description

Backup lights get left behind because they are heavy for what they do. The ORCA7 weighs 125 grams and is 130 millimetres long, which is small enough to live in a BCD pocket permanently, and it still delivers up to 3000 lumens. The beam is the reason it works as more than a backup: a focused 6 degree centre for long-distance penetration sits inside a 60 degree flood for broad coverage, so one light handles murky water, a cave passage and a wreck interior without a compromise in either direction. Three brightness levels include an SOS mode. Power is a 5000 milliamp-hour cell charging directly over USB-C rather than through a dedicated charger, and it is rated to 150 metres where much of the class stops at 100. Five colours are stocked: blue, grey, orange, red and silver. It suits a diver who wants a pocket light bright enough to work as a primary.
