POM Mount

Description

A light held in the free hand is a light pointing somewhere other than down the barrel, and after dark that is the difference between a shot and a wasted breath hold. The OrcaTorch POM Mount fixes a dive light to the speargun itself, so the beam goes wherever the gun is aimed. It is moulded from toughened polyformaldehyde, an engineering plastic that cannot rust in salt water, and its jaws close on a light body of 25 to 31 mm with a star knob that loosens by hand on the boat. On a night hunt through a kelp gully it frees both hands for loading and aiming; in the low light of a dusk session along a reef edge it keeps the fish lit through the whole approach; and between dives the light comes off in seconds for charging. It is sized for the OrcaTorch D500, D520 and D550 and weighs 85 g. It suits a spearfisher who hunts at night or in poor light.
