O'Ring Picks - Set of 3 + Silicone

Description

A metal blade scores the sealing groove, and a scored groove leaks with any o-ring in it, which is why a screwdriver is the wrong tool and these are the right one. Three shapes come in the set because o-rings sit in different places: a straight pick lifts one out of an open groove, a hooked pick reaches one recessed in a valve, and an angled pick works where there is no room to bring a hand square on. Each is shaped and finished to lift a ring rather than cut into it. The grease is the other half of the job, because a ring fitted dry drags and can roll or nick as it goes in, where a lightly greased one seats first time. Use it on rubber o-rings and keep it away from anything in oxygen service, which needs an oxygen-compatible lubricant instead. It belongs in a save-a-dive kit alongside the O-Ring Kit itself. It suits a diver fitting their own o-rings.
