Ots Full Face Mask Strap

Description

The head harness is what holds a full-face mask in place, and this OTS mask strap is the replacement listed among the user-removable parts of the OTS Guardian full face mask. The Guardian uses a five-point strapping system, with two jaw straps, two temple straps and a top strap, each running through a nylon buckle mounted on a tab of the skirt. OTS advises fully extending all five straps before donning, snugging the jaw straps first, then the temples, and taking care not to overtighten the top strap. A harness that has stretched, perished or lost its grip in the buckles is worth replacing before the next dive, because the mask relies on it to sit correctly. On a comms-equipped mask the OTS earphone holders thread onto the temple and jaw straps, so the harness also carries the earpieces. For a dive school or public safety team running several masks, a spare keeps a mask in service while a worn strap is retired.
