Aqualung Pike Snorkel

Description

Surface chop is what actually ends a snorkel, not depth: a wave breaks over the top, the tube fills, and the swimmer comes up coughing. The Pike carries an anti-splash valve at the top designed to stop that water getting in rather than dealing with it afterwards, and a one-way purge at the bottom to clear whatever does. Between them they turn a choppy day from an ordeal into an ordinary swim. The mouthpiece is hypoallergenic silicone, which matters because the cheap alternatives are a common cause of the mouth irritation that gets blamed on salt water. It is sized and shaped for an adult. That answers a snorkelling holiday in an exposed bay, a swimmer training face down in open water, and a first snorkel bought to replace a rental. It suits an adult snorkeller who swims where there is chop.
