Description

A larger kit in a car boot is no use on a jetty. The kit that gets used is whichever one somebody was actually carrying, and at 6.5 by 11 centimetres and under 50 grams this one lives in a pocket, a BCD pocket or on a belt loop and gets forgotten about until it is needed. Contents cover the first minutes rather than a full response: CPR instructions, a disposable face shield, nitrile gloves, bandages and skin cleaning wipes. The face shield is what the kit is built around rather than dressings, because it is the item that decides whether a bystander starts rescue breaths at all. The case is water resistant with a belt loop and a clip. It is a supplement to a proper first aid kit rather than a replacement, carrying no snake bandage, shears or trauma dressing; the Compact and Handy kits are the fuller options. It suits everyday carry, a dive bag or a hiking pack.
