Description

What breaks a spearfishing knife is prying, not cutting, and the point of failure is almost always where a partial tang ends inside the handle. The Predator has none: the blade runs right through the interior of the handle to a small pommel at the end, and its rhomboidal cross section gives it real resistance to flexing and breaking. Cressi are direct about where the durability comes from, which is the quality of the tempered AISI 420 steel rather than how sharp it arrives, and a black coating handles corrosion. At 18 cm it is a small stiletto: manageable enough to carry on the arm or the belt, with the penetration that spearfishing asks for. The blade is double-edged, smooth on one side and serrated on the other, and the handle is a comfortable rubberised polymer that grips wet. It suits a spearfisher who wants a compact blade that will take a prying load.
