Description

A ring that has crept out of position turns a routine gas switch into a fumble at depth. Four slots rather than three is what stops that: every extra pass of webbing adds a bend, every bend adds friction, and the assembly grips harder the harder it is pulled. SCUBAPRO put this one on shoulder straps for that reason, where a D-ring may carry a stage cylinder, a canister light or a scooter tow cord, and it holds the ring at the collarbone instead of letting it slide towards the elbow. The same part locks ballast blocks on a weight belt and anchors webbing tails, and it keeps a harness set up for one diver from resetting itself on the drive home. It takes 50 millimetre harness webbing and is sold singly. Fitting calls for the webbing to be unthreaded, so a made-up harness comes apart first. Light loads are served well enough by the three-slot Tri-Glide. It suits a technical diver locking a loaded shoulder D-ring.
