Description

Fogging is caused by warm damp air from the nose meeting cool glass, and the Quantum is the mask in the Cressi range built specifically to stop that happening rather than to be wiped clear afterwards. A system of membranes moulded around the eyes and nose deflects exhaled air towards the rubber skirt instead of the lenses. On the outside, two small heat exchangers act as radiators, dropping the temperature inside the mask closer to the water's and trapping moisture droplets before the air ever reaches the glass. Despite carrying both systems the body stays compact, and downward vision is enhanced, which keeps a console or a camera in view. One honest note: the lenses are not chemically treated, so the factory film needs cleaning off before the first dive. Nine colourways are offered. It suits a diver whose mask fogs no matter how carefully it is prepared.
