Description

Water strips red out of a scene within the first few metres, so a compact camera tends to bring back blue-green footage long before it runs short of detail. The SeaLife ReefMaster RM-4K tackles that with an underwater colour-correction mode for depth, and it leaves room to add SeaLife's Sea Dragon lights when correction alone stops being enough. A small camera with a 14 MP Panasonic CMOS sensor sits inside a housing rated to 40 m, recording 4K video at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps through a 140 degree fisheye lens that focuses from 30 cm to infinity. The housing closes with a pressure-locking thumb screw, so the seal is checked before each dive rather than taken on trust. The battery is removable and rechargeable, rated for more than 500 images or over two hours of video per charge, and footage goes to a micro SD card of up to 128 GB. A 2 inch colour screen and a four-button menu keep it simple to run underwater. It suits a diver wanting 4K stills and video without a full camera system.
