SCUBAPRO S-TEK Back Plate

Description

A back plate is the one item in a technical rig that never wears out, so the choice is made once and lived with. The decision is stainless steel or aluminium, and it comes down to ballast. Stainless adds around two kilograms of fixed, well placed weight to the rig, which most divers in a drysuit want and can then leave off the belt. Aluminium removes that weight, which matters to anyone flying to a dive or diving wet in warm water where the extra lead is not needed. Everything else is the same. The S-Tek plate is 3D formed with a curved central profile and fully radiused edges, EVO angle webbing slots for a natural harness route, a recessed wing nut socket, and mounting points for trim weights, an argon cylinder and a carry handle. It suits a diver building a back plate and wing rig from parts.
