Knife Scissors

Description

A straight blade can struggle with slack monofilament that slides along the edge, which is where a pair of shears earns its keep. This Scubatech tool opens from a double-edged knife into a set of scissors in 420 stainless steel. A diver can saw or snip, depending on what has wrapped around a fin or first stage. The standard version is a full 280 mm with a 140 mm blade, a hammer butt and two straps, sized for the calf on a cold lake dive in thick gloves. The mini version shrinks to 175 mm with a 90 mm blade and comes with a kit to mount it on a hose or BCD, keeping it within reach on a warm-water boat dive. Like the standard, it rides in a latched plastic sheath. It suits a diver who regularly meets fishing line and wants a cutting tool that does more than one job.
