Line Cutter

Description

Monofilament is almost invisible underwater and tends to find a first stage or fin strap at the worst moment, so a cutter that works by feel is worth carrying. This Scubatech line cutter uses a hooked blade shrouded by its plastic body: the diver hooks the line, pulls, and it parts without an exposed edge near a drysuit or hose. The 200 mm body has a large, contoured handle that fills a thick glove on a cold quarry dive. On an ocean wreck where old nets hang off the plating, a dull blade can be swapped for one of the two spares in the pack, since the body is assembled with stainless steel screws. It is not designed for thick rope, which calls for a knife or shears. It suits a diver who wants a safe, snag-free cutter on a harness or BCD for line and light net.
