Quick Release Buckle

Description

A cracked side-release buckle on a chest strap or waistband can end a dive day before it starts, and it is one of the cheapest parts of a BCD to replace. These black Scubatech quick release buckles come in two widths to match standard webbing. The 25 mm size suits chest straps, pocket closures and accessory straps, where a small buckle is easier to work with cold fingers. The 50 mm size suits the waistband of a jacket BCD or a heavy-duty strap on a cylinder carrier. Each is a two-part side-release buckle, and squeezing the side tabs lets the halves separate. A dive centre can keep a few of each size in the repair box for rental kit. Fitting may mean unpicking stitching or re-threading webbing, so the webbing width is worth measuring first. It suits a diver or dive centre replacing a broken buckle on a BCD or strap.
