Scubatech Retractor with Steel Cable

Description

A gauge console or torch that hangs loose on a long hose or lanyard swings into the reef and stirs up the bottom behind a diver. This Scubatech retractor reels its cable back into a compact housing, so the item sits snug against the BCD until it is pulled out to use. The cable is stainless steel and 64 cm long, which gives enough reach to bring a console or compass up in front of the mask. A plastic snap hook clips the housing to a D-ring, and a split ring on the cable end takes the item. On a reef dive, it keeps a console off the coral without a separate hose clip. On a camera dive, it tethers a small torch or pointer that is used and let go many times over. It is made for light items, not heavy cameras or lights.
