Description
Silicone straps perish in sunlight and snap without warning, usually on the morning of the best dive of the trip. A spare strap weighs almost nothing and saves the day. This Scubatech replacement is 20 mm wide, made of silicone, and comes in black or clear so it can match the skirt of the mask it goes on. The back is split into two bands, which spreads the pull over the head and grips better than a single band. It is worth packing one on a liveaboard where the nearest shop is days away, on a club trip where a buddy's strap is the one that goes, and in a school's spares box for students. The strap threads through the mask's buckles; check the buckle slot takes a 20 mm strap before ordering. It suits a diver or snorkeller who wants a spare strap on hand.
