Colour rendering index is the specification that matters on an underwater light, because it measures how faithfully colour comes back rather than how much light goes out, and a high figure is what turns a blue photograph into a natural one. This one runs a CRI of 90 from flat panel COB LED technology. Output is 2500 lumens across a 120 degree beam, wide enough to cover the field of view of a wide angle camera without a hotspot in the middle. A single button cycles three brightness levels at 100, 50 and 25 percent, and a hidden emergency signal mode gives one second blink intervals and SOS morse code, so the light doubles as a signalling device without a second item on the rig.
