Sea & Sea Compact Macro Port S (35)

Description

A macro lens behind the wrong port either vignettes or refuses to focus close, so the port is chosen by the lens rather than the other way round. The Sea & Sea Compact Macro Port S (35) is a flat port sized for short macro lenses. Listed lenses are the Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED and AI AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D, the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM and the Tokina AT-X M35 PRO DX 35mm f/2.8. Behind a flat port those lenses cover fish portraits, blennies peering from holes and nudibranchs at close range. The port is rated to 100 m, built from anodised corrosion resistant aluminium alloy with tempered glass, and places the inner glass surface 21.5 mm from the mount. It belongs to the DX housing generation, and the Sea & Sea system chart settles the lens, housing and any port base combination. The lens and housing are sold separately, and the matching Rear Port Cover S protects it in storage. It suits a DX housing owner shooting a short macro lens.
