Sea Arm 8 Slide Ball Base

Description

A Sea & Sea grip fitted with a Bracket Shoe has nowhere to clamp an arm until something slides into that shoe. The SA8 Slide Ball Base is that piece: it slides into the Bracket Shoe and presents a Sea Arm 8 ball, so a Ball Clamp and a Double Ball Arm can carry a strobe or video light out from the grip. That turns a bare housing into a lit rig for a first strobe, adds a second mounting point to a grip that already carries one arm, and replaces a base that has gone missing from an existing rig. It is machined from corrosion resistant aluminium alloy with an anodised finish, measures 33 x 72 mm and weighs 83.5 g. Sea & Sea have discontinued it and list it among their earlier SA8 parts, so it is sold from remaining stock; the current Fixed Ball Base and Ball Base for Accessory Shoe II serve newer grips. It suits an owner of a Bracket Shoe grip extending the SA8 system.
