Description
Breathing through the nose while watching the reef feels natural to a first-time snorkeller, which is the appeal of the SEAC Libera full face mask. Its patented system sends inhaled and exhaled air down separate channels, keeping breathing easy and stopping the panoramic polycarbonate screen fogging from exhaled air. SEAC tests its full face masks in the laboratory on Ansti machines to measure breathing performance and CO2 levels, and reports the Libera well below the safety limits. On a family beach holiday, the fabric straps adjust at the top and bottom of the head, and quick-release buckles on both sides let the mask come off with one hand. On a boat trip over a shallow reef, the dry top keeps water out of the snorkel, a purge valve clears any that does enter, and the brightly coloured snorkel stays visible on the surface. Sizing is by the distance from nose to chin, and SEAC recommends it for adults and children aged 10 and up. It suits a holidaymaker who wants relaxed, easy snorkelling.
