Large UW Retractor

Description

A tray with two lights and arms is heavy enough that a compact retractor will not lift it back, which is the whole reason for the larger of the two. This one is sized for a SportDiver or DC-series camera and for bigger handheld dive lights. The line is Spectra and nylon with an 80 pound, 36 kg, breaking strength, extending 107 cm fully on a 12 ounce, 340 gram, retraction force. The body is polycarbonate with stainless steel spring and hardware, the snap clip is 1 inch 316 stainless, and a 3 inch quick-connect lanyard takes the load without scratching a housing. Between shots that is what keeps a camera off the reef, since the rig pulls into use and returns on its own rather than needing two hands and a look each time. The mechanism is self-flushing, so a rinse in fresh water is the only maintenance. It measures 5.3 by 19 by 2.2 cm at 112 grams. SeaLife have it custom made by GearKeeper in the USA. It suits a photographer carrying a full camera rig.
